A Call to Action: The AIxBio Global Forum High-Level Statement on Biosecurity Risks at the Convergence of AI and the Life Sciences

  • 13:15 – 14:45 CEST
  • Palais des Nations, Building E, Room XXII, Geneva, Switzerland

Rapid advances at the convergence of AI and the life sciences offer significant potential benefits but could pose catastrophic risks if misused. Reducing these risks requires innovative technical and policy solutions, development of international best practices, and action from governments to incentivize adoption.

NTI | bio is hosting an event at the 2025 Meeting of the Working Group on Strengthening the Biological Weapons Convention. The event will bring together global biosecurity and AI experts to explore how BWC States Parties, private industry, and civil society can address the complex risks at the intersection of biology and artificial intelligence.

The event will highlight the AIxBio Global Forum, launched by NTI | bio as a collaborative platform. It brings together international experts, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to identify and reduce biosecurity risks at the intersection of AI and biology. Panelists will discuss the Forum’s recent Statement on Biosecurity Risks at the Convergence of AI and the Life Sciences, a call on governments, industry, the scientific community, and funders to take action to protect biology against misuse.

Light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
