Global Biological Policy & Programs (NTI | bio)

Alex Kyabarongo is an intern with NTI’s Global Biological Policy and Programs team. He has a background in veterinary medicine and is currently an MSc Biodefense candidate at the Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University. His work focuses on health security policy, biological threat reduction, and biosecurity governance.

Kyabarongo is particularly interested in the strengthening of health security capacities in Africa, pandemic preparedness, and bridging the gap between science and policy. He previously interned with the Biological Weapons Convention Implementation Support Unit (BWC-ISU) at the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs in Geneva, where he supported activities on the national implementation of the BWC in Africa under the Global Partnership’s Signature Initiative to mitigate biological threats in Africa.
