NTI Vice President for Nuclear Materials Security Scott Roecker and Program Officer Jessica Bufford presented at the first International Conference on Nuclear Law hosted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna from March 25-29, 2022.
New approaches to strengthen international safeguards. The papers are the result of a 2021 project aimed at bridging a growing gap between Russian and U.S.-Western views on the effectiveness and sustainability of IAEA safeguards.
Nuclear Threat Initiative experts are in Vienna this week for the first-ever review of the only legally binding treaty on nuclear security—the amended Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Materials (A/CPPNM).
"Reducing and eliminating nuclear risks that could lead to catastrophic consequences is a common interest for all nations and an enduring responsibility of the nuclear weapon states."
NTI Co-Chair and CEO Ernest J. Moniz and NTI President and COO Joan Rohlfing announce that Scott Roecker has been named Vice President of NTI’s Nuclear Materials Security Program.
