South Korea, U.S. Discuss North Korea

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton discussed the situation in North Korea with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak on Sunday, with both parties agreeing to maintain coordinated efforts to convince Pyongyang to relinquish its nuclear weapons drive, the Yonhap News Agency reported.

Washington and Seoul also agreed to encourage the North to implement economic and human rights reforms, according to information provided by Lee's office. The meeting between the longtime allies occurred on the margins the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Russia.
