Abigail Koch is an intern with the Nuclear Materials Security (NMS) team. In this role, she supports NTI’s mission to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons by working on the Nuclear Security Index and Global Dialogue on Nuclear Security Priorities. She also supports the team’s Nuclear Scaling Initiative, aiming to strengthen nonproliferation efforts worldwide.
Abigail is a rising junior at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, majoring in Regional Studies of Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia, and minoring in Russian. Abigail previously worked with the Institute for Science and International Security on their Peddling Peril Index, assessing nations’ strategic trade controls. Prior to her time with ISIS, Abigail interned at the American Foreign Policy Council on their Defense Technology Program and Space Policy Initiative, where she explored the intersections between nuclear and space security.
In her free time, Abigail enjoys developing recipes for themed dinner parties and shopping secondhand.
