Carla Montilla served as Communications Intern for NTI. In this role, she assisted the communications team in amplifying the organization’s message, as well as created and edited content for NTI’s social media platforms, blog, and website.

Carla is a graduate student at American University’s School of International Service, focusing on constitutional democracy, narrative, and state-building. She holds degrees in History and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

In an NTI seminar, author and nuclear expert Dr. Rebecca Davis Gibbons shared insights from her new book, the Hegemon’s Tool Kit: U.S. Leadership and the Politics of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Regime, in which she explores the creation of the nuclear non-proliferation regime and steps taken to ensure that as many countries as possible continue to adhere to it.
