Chantal Li is an intern for NTI’s Global Nuclear Policy Program (GNPP). In this role, she supports NTI’s efforts to reduce global nuclear risks with a focus on navigating disruptions to the nuclear order, nuclear risk reduction measures, and the implications of nuclear effects in space.
Chantal graduated with honors from Georgetown University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, and International Affairs. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Security Studies at Georgetown, with a concentration in International Security. Chantal has interned for the Space Foundation, the NATO Research Group, and held multiple research and administrative roles within Georgetown University.
Her research areas include soft power, space security, and strategic competition. Chantal has published with the Space Foundation’s Quarterly Space Report and the International Astronautical Congress (IAC). Her publications have discussed topics such as the state of the Swedish space sector and its decision to join NATO, as well as the strategic signaling benefits a country can gain by completing the first crewed interplanetary flyby mission to Venus.
In her free time, Chantal likes to explore new restaurants and coffee shops around the DMV.
