Mark Adams was NTI’s Director of Development. In this role, he collaborated with the Development team and broader NTI organization to raise funds from individuals, governments, foundations, and corporations.
Adams comes to NTI after serving as Vice President for External Relations and Resource Development for the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) where he led the development and implementation of IFES’s strategic plan and targets for financial growth and influence, strengthening IFES’s position as a thought leader and clear choice for implementing programs in the democracy, human rights, and governance space. In this role, Mark brought a unique combination of global fundraising leadership experience and strategic marketing and communications expertise that was pivotal in bringing IFES to the next level of excellence as the organization confronted new and challenging threats to democracy around the world.
Adams has focused his career on fundraising, business development, and marketing, serving in a variety of nonprofit and private sector leadership roles over the past 18 years. Previously, Adams was the Director of Institutional Fundraising at Population Services International (PSI), a leading global health NGO. In his 14 years in this role, he was integral to PSI’s strategic planning and fundraising, leading a team that consistently achieved over $400 million in yearly business revenues. Prior to his work at PSI, Adams served in variety of marketing and advertising roles as Vice President for Strategy and Insights at Wunderman World Health, as Director of Brand Strategy at Blattner Brunner, and as Assistant Vice President at T. Rowe Price and Merrill Lynch, among other roles.
Adams holds a B.A. in political science from Bucknell University and an M.B.A. from Virginia Tech.
