Nigel
Li

Nigel Li is an intern on the Global Nuclear Policy Program team. He is primarily interested in US-Russia-China strategic stability issues and seeking pathways for dialogue to mitigate nuclear risks.

Currently a Master’s student at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, Nigel is pursuing an MA in Eurasian, Russian, and Eastern European Studies. In 2023, he completed his undergraduate studies at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), the first Singaporean to do so.

He focuses on Russian foreign policy, geopolitical developments in Central Asia and Sino-Russian relations. At Georgetown, he is a graduate fellow at Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs serving as a teacher assistant and has conducted research on the growing influence of the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) on the Russian State. As an incoming Bunker fellow at the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy he will further his research on the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
