Shahneela Tariq is an intern on the Nuclear Materials Security (NMS) Team. Her areas of research are nuclear security and artificial intelligence and, she is focusing on the effects of artificial intelligence in mitigating insider nuclear security threats at a civilian nuclear power plant.
Currently, she is a Master student at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS), Monterey, majoring in Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies. At MIIS she is a Graduate Research Assistant at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS), where she is assisting in establishing regional Women in Nuclear Networks in the Black Sea, Central Asia and the Middle East.
Recently, Shahneela has started a new project Women in Nuclear Security Podcast (https://wins-podcast.middcreate.net/) at MIIS. She is passionate about advocating a more inclusive nuclear security landscape, empowering women to play a leading role.
