NTI Seminar: A Conversation with New York Times Opinion

  • 2PM ET
  • Virtual NTI Seminar

Please join us for a virtual conversation with Kathleen Kingsbury and W.J. Hennigan from New York Times Opinion to discuss their “At the Brink” series about today’s nuclear threats.

For the past year, Times Opinion has delivered essays, podcasts, and videos to bring the peril of nuclear weapons back to the forefront of public consciousness. The multi-part, interactive project immerses readers into today’s realities by explaining the deteriorating security environment, scrutinizing policies, and offering ways for nations — and its citizenry — to drive practical changes.

Kathleen Kingsbury is the Opinion Editor for The New York Times. In her role, she oversees the editorial board, guest essays, Opinion columnists, letters to the editor, as well as Opinion’s newsletters, audio, video, graphics, design and digital distribution teams. Prior to joining The Times in 2017, Kingsbury worked at the Boston Globe and Time magazine. In 2015, while at The Globe, Katie won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Writing for her series “Service Not Included.”

W.J. Hennigan writes about the U.S. military and national security issues for The New York Times Opinion section in Washington, D.C. He has covered war, the arms trade, and the lives of U.S. service members for more than 15 years. He’s worked for The Los Angeles Times and Time magazine, and has reported from more than two dozen countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, and from the Horn of Africa.
