As global nuclear security challenges grow more complex—driven by technological change, geopolitical competition, and evolving threat vectors—dialogue and cooperation between major powers remain essential. Against this backdrop, NTI, the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association, and the State Nuclear Security Technology Center jointly convened the China-U.S. Track II Dialogue on Nuclear Security in Beijing from October 21–22, 2025.

The two-day meeting brought together more than 20 senior experts and scholars from leading Chinese institutions and NTI to exchange views on the evolving global nuclear security landscape and explore opportunities for continued cooperation. Participants represented the China Institute of Atomic Energy, Strategic Research Center of the China Academy of Engineering Physics, China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, China Institute of Nuclear Industry Strategy.

The group engaged in robust discussions on strengthening the international nuclear security architecture, building mutual confidence, and advancing common goals around securing nuclear materials. The dialogue underscored a shared commitment to communication, transparency, and collaboration to ensure the highest standards of nuclear security worldwide.
