Speaking at the American Nuclear Society Winter Meeting, NTI Co-Chairman Sam Nunn called for the global community to take two key steps to prevent nuclear catastrophe and over time achieve the ultimate objectives of the Non-Proliferation Treaty: “First, we must secure all nuclear weapons and materials globally to the highest possible standards. Second, we must develop a new and improved approach to managing the risks associated with producing fuel for nuclear power.”

Hosted by the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission and the Nuclear Threat Initiative, the three-day workshop brings together senior officials, technical experts, and regional representatives to address emerging nuclear security challenges.
