Coordinating Submarine Dismantlement Assistance in Russia

A report by the Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) discusses the coordination challenges associated with international assistance to decommissioning Russia's obsolete nuclear-powered submarines. Their dismantlement has been identified as one of the priority areas for the Global Partnership against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction, initiated at the G8 summit in Kananaskis, Canada in June of 2002.
