About

The Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) is Pakistan’s largest defense supplier and industrial complex. It is a conglomerate consisting of fourteen factories that are central to Pakistan’s conventional arms production. 1 2 3 The fourteen factories specialize in munitions ranging from materials such as steel and tungsten, to propellants and explosives, to tanks, artillery, machine guns, and uniforms. The POF serves Pakistani military, law enforcement, and private organizations in Pakistan.4

While primarily engaged in conventional arms production, Rodney Jones et al. assessed that the POF may also be a site for the final assembly of nuclear payloads onto their delivery systems. 5
