Please join the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), Horizon 2045, and Ploughshares, in partnership with the UN Office of Disarmament Affairs (UNODA), the Permanent Mission of Austria to the United Nations in New York, and the Permanent Mission of Australia to the United Nations in New York, for a panel discussion that will explore novel approaches for building a future without nuclear weapons and the linkages between nuclear disarmament and other critical global humanitarian issues, such as environmental protection and public health.

The panel will also discuss the relevance of strategic foresight and future work to support nuclear disarmament; cascading humanitarian, environmental, and societal consequences of nuclear weapons use in today’s interconnected world; innovative applications of emerging legal principles from adjacent spaces like climate change and the rights of future generations; and the importance of including marginalized voices in nuclear conversations.
