Sam Nunn
Co-Founder and Co-Chair, NTI
NTI Co-Chairman Sam Nunn addressed the 13th PIIC Beijing Seminar on International Security on the heels of NTI's board of directors meeting in Beijing, China. Nunn discussed his personal experiences with U.S.-China relations, the importance of cooperation in reducing nuclear risk.
"We have a common stake in the strength of the global economy and the growth of global trade. We have common interests in protecting the environment, developing affordable and clean sources of energy, fighting terrorism, and preventing the spread of nuclear weapons," said Nunn.
"We can’t ignore our differences. We have to work on them diligently and in good faith," he continued. "But the great tragedy would be if we let the differences overwhelm our mutual interests."
