Former U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest J. Moniz is co-chair and chief executive officer and co-chair of the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI). He began serving in June 2017.

Erin D. Dumbacher is a senior program officer for the Scientific and Technical Affairs program. Since joining NTI in September 2017, she has worked to strengthen cybersecurity for nuclear weapons systems and facilities, to improve nuclear security globally through the NTI Nuclear Security Index, and to apply emerging technologies to non-proliferation challenges.

Christopher Isaac joined NTI in September 2019 as a Program Assistant for the Global Biological Policy and Programs team.

Cheryl Nathan joined NTI as Director of Human Resources in July, 2019. Cheryl has more than 20 years of experience in the human resources field.

Corey Hinderstein serves as vice president of international fuel cycle strategies, returning to NTI after a three-year leave during which she was senior coordinator for nuclear security and nonproliferation policy affairs at the National Nuclear Security Administration, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Corey brings deep expertise in international nuclear fuel cycle policy, improving global nuclear security, as well as arms control and nonproliferation verification.

Charles B. Curtis was founding president and COO of NTI. He has served as under secretary, deputy secretary and acting secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy. He was executive vice president and COO of the United Nations Foundation (UNF) and was a partner in Hogan & Hartson, a Washington-based law firm.

Deepika Choudhary joined the Nuclear Threat Initiative in May of 2020 and serves as a director on the Communications team. She is responsible for providing dedicated communications support and strategy to three of NTI’s program teams— Global Nuclear Policy, Materials Risk Management, and Science and Technical Affairs— while leading one of the organization’s public education campaigns.

His Royal Highness has initiated, founded and is actively involved in a number of Jordanian and international institutes and committees.

Cathy Gwin is one of the founding staff members of the Nuclear Threat Initiative and has played a critical role in advancing NTI's public education and outreach mission.
