Vice President, Communications

Bio

Mimi Hall is vice president for Communications. In this role, she provides strategic and tactical communications leadership for NTI and its programs, as well as its public education initiatives.

Hall joined NTI in 2011 and previously served as the Communication team’s senior director for content. A former journalist, she has first-hand experience translating complex issues to engage broader audiences.

Prior to NTI, Hall was a White House correspondent for USA Today, where she covered the Obama administration for the newspaper and wrote for its White House blog.  From early 2002 through the end of the George W. Bush administration, Hall was the paper’s homeland and national security reporter covering security policy and programs at the federal, state and local levels. She covered the creation and development of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and its first two secretaries, the 9/11 Commission’s investigation, the 2010 Nuclear Security summit, passage of New START, and more.

In a USA Today career that spanned 22 years, Hall also covered the Clinton White House, reporting on summits, overseas missions and an array of domestic issues, as well as Congress and national political and presidential campaigns.

Prior to moving to Washington, DC, Hall worked as a reporter at two newspapers in Connecticut. She has a B.A. from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
