Congress Nixes Proposed East Coast Antimissile Funding Cut
A Democratic proposal to cut $70 million in fiscal 2014 funding for a potential East Coast missile defense site failed to gain traction on Tuesday in the House of Representatives, Defense News reported.
Lawmakers defeated the measure in a 249-173 vote. They also voted against defunding a planned deployment of additional missile interceptors in the western United States.
