Head of Pacific Fleet Tapped to Take Over STRATCOM
The head of the U.S. Pacific Fleet has been tapped by President Obama to be the next leader of Strategic Command, the Pentagon announced on Monday.
Pending Senate approval, Navy Adm. Cecil Haney will replace Air Force Gen. Robert Kehler as commander of the Nebraska-based command, which has combat responsibility over the country's arsenal of ICBMs, ballistic missile submarines and strategic bombers.
