Avi Kirpekar

Former Intern, NTI

Avi Kirpekar serves as an intern with the Global Nuclear Policy Program (GNPP) at NTI. In this role, he supports the rest of the GNPP team with activities related to arms control and non-proliferation, U.S.-Russia and U.S.-China nuclear relations, and South Asian nuclear dynamics. Kirpekar is a second year Masters student at Johns Hopkins SAIS where he studies Conflict Management and International Economics with a minor in South Asia Studies. He spent his first year of graduate study in Bologna, Italy at the SAIS Europe campus before finishing his degree in Washington DC. He has interned in the past on the India desk at the State Department and at the Observer Research Foundation America. His main interests lie in the U.S.-India relationship and security issues in the Indo-Pacific, especially related to nuclear security. In his free time, he enjoys playing and watching tennis and trying new restaurants in DC.
