Join NTI,
University of California System, and NNSA for Technical Discussion on Radiological
Risks
NTI, the University of California System, and the National
Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)-Office of Radiological Security will
host two workshops for researchers and hospital staff on the risks associated
with using cesium-137 irradiators for research and blood irradiation.
The workshops will take place in two California locations this
month:
- January 29th, 8:30 am – 2:30 pm, University
of California – Los Angeles (UCLA) - January 30th, 8:30 am – 2:30 pm, University
of California – San Francisco (UCSF)
Both sessions will be broadcast live on an online webinar for
those who cannot join in person.
NTI’s Vice President Andrew Bieniawski is included among the
expert panelists who will help facilitate this technical discussion. The aim is
to educate research and healthcare professionals about the availability of safe
and effective alternative technology that can help eliminate the threat of
cesium-137, a radioactive material, being used to create a “dirty bomb.”
