Webinar on COVID-19 Frontline Guide for Decision-Makers

NTI hosted a live webinar launch for the new COVID-19 Frontline Guide for Decision-Makers, an online tool for state, city, and local leaders working to reduce the impact of the coronavirus. Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, who has been on the front lines combatting the outbreak in Washington state, joined NTI Co-chairs Ernest J. Moniz and Sam Nunn to discuss the Guide, which was developed jointly by the NTI | bio team, the Center for Global Development (CGD), and the Georgetown University Center for Global Health Science and Security.

A panel, moderated by NTI’s Vice President for Global Biological Policy and Programs Beth Cameron, included the the CGD’s Jeremy Konyndyk, Georgetown’s Rebecca Katz, and the City of Seattle’s Tina Walha. Konyndyk, who previously led the U.S. response to the Ebola epidemic, emphasized that local decision-makers are critical to response efforts. The Frontline Guide offers decision support tools and an easy-to-follow response framework. Durkan’s advice to those watching the webinar: “If I had one word to tell everyone, it’s act.
