How to Avoid a Nuclear War

Two retired generals—one from the United States and the other from Russia—called for the presidents of Russia and the United States to decide in tandem to eliminate the launch-on-warning concept from their nuclear strategies. Both generals called for Russia and the U.S. to engage in military-to-military discussions to remove these postures in order to avoid dangerous human and technical error.
