Global Biological Policy & Programs (NTI | Bio)


Jacob Eckles joined the Nuclear Threat Initiative in December 2019 as a program officer for global biological policy and programs. In this role, he supports a variety of activities related to the Global Health Security Index, Global Biosecurity Dialogue, and global health financing.

Prior to joining NTI, Eckles served as a global health officer in the Office of Global Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He has served as a U.S. delegate to the World Health Assembly and has extensive experience working with multilateral institutions and partnerships.

Eckles holds a M.P.H. in Global Health Policy from the George Washington University, where he focused in global health security and public health in humanitarian emergencies. He also holds a B.S. in Political Science from Indiana Wesleyan University.
