Sophia Brown serves as a Program Officer for NTI’s Nuclear Materials Security Program (NMS). In this role, she supports the Nuclear Scaling Initiative and other nuclear energy-related activities, as well as NTI’s role in the International Partnership for Nuclear Disarmament Verification.
Before joining NTI, she was the project lead for the Nuclear Technology Team at CRDF Global, where she implemented a diverse portfolio of international capacity-building projects focused on nuclear energy and security in coordination with the Department of State. She also served as a research assistant at the National Security Archive, conducting literature reviews on proliferation threats and documenting historic U.S. policy decisions.
Brown is fluent in French and is passionate about education, volunteering her time to tutor individuals preparing for the GED or navigating the college application process. She holds a B.A. in International Relations with a minor in Economics from Tulane University.
