The Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), with the support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Global Affairs Canada, is pleased to present a side event at the 10th Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference (RevCon) focused on explaining how nuclear security is foundational to all three of these pillars of the non-proliferation regime: disarmament, non-proliferation, and peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

  • Nuclear weapons states will not make progress towards disarmament if they fear that stolen nuclear weapons or materials could end up in the hands of terrorists or new states.
  • Nuclear non-proliferation is not possible if a state or a terrorist group might be able to acquire a stolen nuclear weapon or materials.
  • The expansion of nuclear power will not be possible unless civilian nuclear facilities and stockpiles are safe and secure.

The event will take place on August 9, 2022 from 1:15-2:30 PM in CR-8.

Those who attend NTI-sponsored events agree to be wholly respectful, professional, and free of bias, prejudice, and harassment. Learn more at nti.org/conduct
