On April 30, the Connect U.S. Fund and the Hudson Institute convened a discussion with Laura Holgate, Senior Director for Weapons of Mass Destruction Terrorism and Threat Reduction, National Security Council, and Nuclear Security Summit "Sous-Sherpa" and Hahn Choong-Hee, Sous-Sherpa/Spokesman of the Preparatory Secretariat of the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Republic of Korea, two officials intimately involved in the Nuclear Security Summit process. NTI's Corey Hinderstein moderated the conversation and the question and answer period. Panel members discussed the Summit's accomplishments and the challenges to forging consensus on this vital security priority.

The Summit can produce outcomes that strengthen U.S. national security and reduce global nuclear and biological risks
NTI convened a roundtable on April 2 with 25 experts and officials to examine the challenges and opportunities for advancing dialogue between the U.S. and China. The discussion featured Dr. Tianjiao Jiang, a Chinese expert on nuclear and emerging technology policy, who spoke on “Issues and Obstacles for U.S.-China Engagement on Nuclear and AI Dialogue.”
