NTI Senior Director and Lead Scientist of Global Biological Policy and Programs Andrew Hebbeler and Senior Program Officer for Materials Risk Management Leon Ratz have been selected for the 2020 Next Generation LGBTQIA+ Foreign Policy and National Security Practitioners List by the advocacy organization Out in National Security (ONS). The list of national security professionals, announced on July 29th, merges activism and education to defend LGBTQIA+ rights, connect national security practitioners, advance the interests of the United States, and improve U.S. security. Those selected for the list are tapped for their experience, community spirit, commitment to public service, and potential for greater leadership roles in the LGBTQIA+ community. NTI’s Senior Director for Fuel Cycle and Verification, Richard Johnson was selected for ONS’s 2019 Rising Leaders list. Read more about ONS here.

The announcement from ONS follows the recent selection of NTI Vice President of Global Biological Policy and Programs Beth Cameron to serve as a member of The Lancet COVID-19 Commission, which was created to help accelerate equitable, lasting solutions to the global COVID-19 pandemic. As a member of the prestigious commission, Cameron joins international experts who believe that global cooperation can foster the development of effective solutions that promote social justice, sustainable development, good governance, and public trust. Over the next 18 months, the Commission will host regional and global webinars that will be open to the public, and they will periodically provide public updates, assessments, and recommendations.
