Nunn Endorses New Report Assessing the Military Option in Iran
NTI co-chairman and CEO former Senator Sam Nunn signed on to a new report released this week, titled "Weighing the Benefits and Costs of Military Action Against Iran." Released at an event at the Woodrow Wilson Center and endorsed by a high-level group of former government officials, retired military officers and foreign policy experts, the report contributes objective, nonpartisan analysis to the debate surrounding a preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear program.
The report offers no conclusions or recommendations, but instead describes "some of the prerequisites for thinking about the use of military force against Iran."
Other endorsers of the report include Brent Scowcroft, President George H.W. Bush's national security adviser; former deputy secretary of state Richard Armitage, former Sen. Chuck Hagel, former national security adviser for President Jimmy Carter, Zbigniew Brzezinski and two retired chiefs of U.S. Central Command, Marine Gen. Anthony Zinni and navy Adm. William J. Fallon.
