Bio

Ross Matzkin-Bridger serves as a senior director for NTI’s Nuclear Materials Security Program.  In this role, he works at the nexus of energy and security, leading efforts to promote responsible nuclear energy deployment, strengthen nonproliferation norms, and encourage smart solutions for nuclear waste. He is also a senior advisor at the Nuclear Scaling Initiative, NTI’s collaborative effort with Clean Air Task Force and the EFI Foundation to encourage safe, rapid nuclear energy development around the world.

Prior to joining NTI, Matzkin-Bridger served in several positions in the U.S. Government, including senior advisor for international affairs at the Department of Energy from 2021–2022, energy attaché at U.S. Embassy Tokyo from 2016–2021, and various roles at the National Nuclear Security Administration.

Before his career in government, Matzkin-Bridger worked for the Korea Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and was the coordinator for international relations for the City of Koka in western Japan.  He holds an M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Asian Studies and Japanese Language from the George Washington University.
