Michelle Nalabandian, MFS

Program Officer, Global Biological Policy and Programs

Michelle Nalabandian joined NTI in 2009 and serves as program officer for the Global Biological Policy and Program. 

Prior to joining NTI, Nalabandian worked in the financial sector for asset management firms Global Environment Fund and Sciens Capital Management. Nalabandian holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in forensic science from George Mason University, and received a certificate of mastery from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

She was a 2015 Center for Strategic and International Studies Project on Nuclear Issues Nuclear Scholar and a 2015 Fellow of the Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Initiative. She is also a member of Women in International Security and the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management.

Nuclear Smuggling: A US-Russia Exercise

An NTI-sponsored table-top exercise convened former US and Russian government officials to respond to a fictional nuclear smuggling event involving the seizure of a significant quantity of weapons-usable nuclear material.
