In 1962, this laboratory was established to produce fuel elements for the RA research reactor. It conducted research on uranium oxide fuel fabrication technology.  In collaboration with the Energy Commission of Czechoslovakia, the laboratory developed the capability to fabricate uranium oxide fuel elements for the RA Research Reactor. 2]
