As of early 2014, the Slovenian Army includes one unit dedicated to NBC activities. The 18th Battalion is attached to the 72nd Brigade and performs CBRN surveillance as well as CBRN protection and decontamination tasks. It is stationed at the Peter Petrič Military Post, 30km north of Ljubljana in the city of Kranj. This unit has been equipped with new gas masks since 2001. It may have been re-equipped with more modern detection and decontamination equipment since 1992, but there are no specific indications that this is the case.
